Salesforce.com to Acquire Rypple
The social work performance review platform signs definitive purchase agreement
Rypple is the brainchild of Daniel Debow and David Stern, and is based in Toronto, Ontario. It has hundreds of high-profile companies such as Facebook, Mozilla, Kobo and of course, Salesforce.com, using their platform.
Rypple is similar to main social games on Facebook in that employees can earn badges and earn skills, much like a Role Playing Game. This keeps the platform social and engaging while providing managers with important performance information about their staff.
Salesforce.com plans to relaunch Rypple as Successforce and create a new Human Capital Management business unit to be run by John Wooky.
Rypple has raised $7 million in funding from several sources including Peter Theil and Seymour Schulich. The details of the acquisition have yet to be released.
