Spielberg's Terra Nova Could Continue on Netflix

The cancelled sci-fi series could see life again on Netflix

Terra Nova, the sci-fi series produced by Steven Spielberg, was cancelled by FOX this week amid rumors that 20th Century Fox TV will try to shop it to other networks.

Deadline is now reporting that preliminary conversations have started between 20th Century and Netflix, the online subscription network, about continuing the series.

While Terra Nova was getting decent ratings, the high cost of producing the show was likely the reason behind the cancellation. Netflix, who had recently launched its first original series Lilyhammer, has shown interest in getting into original programming. Picking up Terra Nova, if they can afford the cost of production, would give them a built-in viewership for an already well received show.
