Israeli conductor Amos Talmon is set to present music from Israel's past and present in Taiwan when he makes his debut in the country this weekend.

The concert, called Voice of Israel – Now and Then will see Talmon collaborate with local cellist Ku Mei-yu to present Max Bruch's Kol Nidrei. He’ll also be conducting the Moment Musical Youth Orchestra in performances of Jewish composer Marc Lavri's Emek, as well as Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6 in B minor, Pathetique. Emek depicts Israel’s spirit and landscape through music.

Talmon hopes to introduce new, young and talented musicians. The 47-year-old composer is seen as a unique musician because of his unusual career path. Talmon was actually a businessman before taking on music as a career.
