Howie Mandel Debuts as TV Judge
The Canadian host is the newest addition to "America's Got Talent."
Season five of America’s Got Talent kicked off Tuesday night and Howie Mandel sat in the judges’ table for the first time. The Canadian personality replaced David Hasselhoff as the newest judge on the reality TV show.
A veteran of TV, Mandel hosts the Deal or No Deal game program in both the U.S. and Canada. The Toronto-born celebrity said he enjoyed the auditions of America’s Got Talent. “I love great talent, but I love bad talent, too,” he told USA Today. “I’ve been onstage for 32 years. I think I can identify the ‘it’ factor, the wow factor.”
He joins Piers Morgan and Sharon Osbourne on the judges’ panel. America’s Got Talent airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.
