Whether you have heard of it or not, "The Social Network,” otherwise known as “The Facebook Movie,” is making its way to cinemas this fall. By the looks of it, the film, which unveils the story of how the website’s founders, including Mark Zuckerberg, created the social-networking phenomenon, is surprisingly going to be a huge blow out.

The film has recently been declared as "One of the Must-See Films of the Year" by reviewers who caught an early screening of the Facebook flick.

While it was not the final cut, the preview has had reviewers foaming at the mouth with Peter Sciretta, chief editor of "/Film,” declaring it his "favorite movie of the year (so far).” The movie was screened for a few select publications, and, casting a quick eye over their initial thoughts, it could actually turn out to be an award winner.

Moreover, Sciretta continued to compliment it and wrote that "after returning home from the screening, I was tempted to read the screenplay - that's how good it is.” The Sydney Morning Herald was equally praising: "This is an astounding film about one of the most important seismic shifts in communication in the modern age, and the way innovation and ethics are not often related,” and indeed, Facebook did change the way we experience the web.

However, some fear the content of the movie will be somewhat nerdy. In a response, Cinematical said in their preview that "with The Social Network, director David Fincher and screenwriter Aaron Sorkin turn some fairly dry, nerdy content about fairly dry, nerdy characters into one of the must-see films of the year, and they don't waste any time getting right to it.”

Finally, if such a movie can garner cinematic success, and not just at an underground level, perhaps we can look forward to seeing similar movies about Twitter, or even Google?
