Annual Jewish Book Fair Returns to Toronto
34th annual Toronto Jewish Book Fair begins October 23.
One of the world’s largest Jewish Book Fairs will be returning to Toronto for the 34th time later this month.
The Toronto Jewish Book Fair was established in 1976 and each year brings to Toronto the best authors from Israel, Canada and around the world, all of whom present their books to audiences of book lovers from the community.
This year’s event will features sales of a wide range of books of Jewish interest, and over 25 international and Canadian authors who will be speaking. Among these authors: World-known Israeli author David Grossman (who will be speaking on opening night), Harold Troper (professor in the Department of Theory and Policy Studies in Education at OISE, University of Toronto), local author Larry Rodness (author of the novel Today I Am a Man), as well as journalist and Muslim Canadian Congress founder Tarek Fatah, who will be discussing his new book entitled The Jew is Not My Enemy. These and other authors who will be speaking, will explore a wide range of topics including contemporary Jewish life, politics, and current affairs.
The 34th annual Toronto Jewish Book Fair will run from October 23 to October 31 at the Beth David B’nai Israel Beth Am Synagogue, located at 55 Yeomans Road, Toronto. The fair is presented by the Koffler Centre of the Arts.
