The Beastie Boys are Back
Beasite Boys release a video to promote their upcoming album, Hot Sauce Committee Part 2
"The Beastie Boys are back". Probably my favorite sentence of all time. Whether used for when a new album drops or when a new tour starts, it just makes me feel good.
In this case, a new album is dropping May 3rd, title Hot Sauce Committee Part 2, which will likely be followed by a tour. Good times.
To promote their long anticipated eigth album, the Beastie's asked a couple of their closest friends, namely Will Ferrel, Jack Black, Danny McBride, Will Arnett, John C. Reilly, Ted Danson, Seth Rogen, Steve Buscemi, Stanley Tucci, Susan Sarandon, Chloe Sevigny and possibly someone else we missed, to star in their promo video for their album and a 30 minute video for their new single "Make Some Noise"
These middle aged rappers are always game for making fun of themselves as is evident in this video. Having the the actors play as the younger and older version of the trio is hilarious and brilliant.
Maybe they were tired of Drake taking the "Best Jewish Rapper" moniker, or they want to show young up-and-comers like Mac Miller who the real Jewish OGs are, but whatever the case, I'm glad they're back.
Here is the promo video for "Fight For Your Rights-Revisited":
