TIFF unveils list of celebrity guests
This years film festival brings in a long list of celebrity guests
Every year the Toronto International Film Festival brings in the best of Hollywood and International talent. This year is definitely no exception. On Tuesday, TIFF released an official press statement including a list of all talent that is expected to attend.
Some notables on the very LONG list include; Rachel Weisz (Jew), Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Clive Owen, Ryan Gosling, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Woody Harrelson, Evan Rachel Wood (Jew), Viggo Mortensen, Glenn Close, James Franco (Jew), Jon Hamm, and Gerard Butler.
For the first time in the festival’s history, the opening night gala will be a documentary. The doc follows the lives and performances of Irish rock band, U2. In celebration of this musical introduction, many musicians are attending the festival including Madonna, Neil Young, Pearl Jam, and U2 themselves.
Some of the more notable directors either attending or presenting a film this year are Francis Ford Coppola, Guy Maddin, David Cronenberg (Jew), and Sarah Polley.
This year’s event will showcase 336 films- 268 features and 68 shorts.
