Ginger Beef Stir Fry
A colourful, quick and tasty Asian recipe
Ingredients
1/4 cup Oyster Sauce
2 tbsp Soy Sauce
2 tbsp Rice Vinegar
1 tbsp Cornstarch
1 lb top Sirloin Grilling Steak, thinly sliced
2 tbsp Vegetable oil
2 tbsp grated Ginger
3 Garlic cloves, minced
4 Carrots, thinly sliced
2 Green Onions, thinly sliced
½ Red (or orange) Pepper
½ Green Pepper
¼ cup Edamame (soy beans)
Directions:
In a large bowl, combine stock, oyster sauce, soy sauce, vinegar and cornstarch. In a separate bowl, toss beef with 1/4 cup of the mixture and let stand for 10 minutes.
In a wok or heavy skillet, heat half of the oil over high heat; stir-fry beef, in batches, for 2 minutes or until browned but still pink inside. Transfer to plate.
Add remaining oil to pan. Reduce heat to medium-high; stir-fry ginger and garlic for 1 minute. Add carrots and 1/4 cup water; cover and steam for 4 minutes or until tender-crisp.
Add the meat back to pan. Add remaining sauce, cook until thickened, about 2 minutes. Stir in green onions and sesame seeds.
Serve with noodles or white rice.
