Tribeca Films is producing the feature film with Robert de Niro and Jane Rosenthal as executive producers. The movie will follow Bernie Madoff and the $65 billion Ponzi scheme. De Niro will play Madoff, and the script will be penned by John Burnham Schwartz (Reservation Road).
Truth and Consequences: Life Inside the Madoff Family is an authorized autobiography that was written with the cooperation of Bernie’s son, Andrew. The book was discussed in a recent episode of 60 Minutes that featured Andrew Madoff and his mother, Ruth, discussing its contents.
HBO has not yet announced a release date for the film.
