Producer extraordinaire Mr. Harvey Weinstein, has had a multitude of successes with the films he’s involved himself with – most recently, last year’s Oscar winner for Best Picture, The King’s Speech. Weinstein is hoping to match the success of the aforesaid film (which in addition won Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, and a Best Actor statuette for Colin Firth) with his latest offering My Week With Marilyn.

My Week With Marilyn, based on two autobiographical books by Colin Clark, focuses on a week Clark spent escorting Monroe around Britain, as she filmed The Prince and the Showgirl with Laurence Olivier in 1957. Michelle Williams plays Monroe, and already folks are abuzz about yet another Oscar nomination. She received a Best Supporting Actress nomination for Brokeback Mountain (2005), and then a Best Actress nomination for Blue Valentine last year.

"Michelle's dedication was so incredibly intense and strong and yet she was so funny practicing her waddle, practicing her wiggle and reading books like a college schoolgirl," Weinstein gushed to E! Online.

"She told me she could sing, but I've heard that before. She goes, 'I can sing,' and I go, 'Really? I was totally cynical and then she goes, 'I can dance, too. I'm like, 'What else can you do?' and thinking, not! But then you see her and, it's just stunning. She killed it. She's so great," he continued.

However, despite his confidence in Williams’ abilities, Weinstein has his sights set on another to play the estimable Monroe on the "Great White Way".

"If the movie works, I would try to make it a musical and I would go to Katy first. I think she can play Marilyn on the Broadway stage -- I think she would be amazing," Weinstein said.

The “Katy” is none other than Katy Perry, whose hit single The One That Got Away has been remixed for a new trailer of the film.

"Katy posted it on her Twitter and Facebook, and the next thing you know 250,000 people have downloaded the trailer in an hour,” said Weinstein.

Akin to his film development prowess, apropos of Weinstein’s experience with developing musicals, likewise he seems to have the magic touch. Weinstein has already won 7 Tony Awards for producing such hits as The Producers, and Billy Elliot.
