Scarlett Johansson is auctioning off an opportunity to grace the red carpet with her, at the premiere of her latest film, We Bought a Zoo. Well, perhaps “grace the red carpet” isn’t exactly accurate, but you get to meet her none-the-less.
“The winner and a guest will have the opportunity to meet Scarlett Johansson at the We Bought A Zoo premiere on Monday, December 12, 2011, in Manhattan,” stated CharityBuzz.com, who is hosting the auction.
The lot is valued at $5000 US, and all proceeds will go to the charitable organization, Blessings in a Backpack, which ensures that “impoverished elementary schoolchildren are fed on the weekends throughout the school year.”
“Blessings in a Backpack is collectively feeding over 37,600 children in 216 schools across 32 U.S. states and 3 countries,” stated the organization’s founder Stan Curtis in early 2011.
Directed and co-written by Cameron Crowe, We Bought a Zoo is based on the true tale of a man and his family who purchase a struggling zoological park in Southern California. In addition to Johansson, Matt Damon, Elle Fanning, and Thomas Haden Church also star.
