Scarlett Johansson Hawks Herself at Auction
Want to walk the red carpet with ScarJo? Find out how.
Ever wanted a “date” with the estimable ScarJo? -- This could very well be your chance, but mind the fine print. Scarlett Johansson is auctioning off an opportunity to grace the red carpet with her, at the premiere of her latest film, We Bought a Zoo. Well, perhaps “grace the red carpet” isn’t exactly accurate, but you get to meet her none-the-less.
“The winner and a guest will have the opportunity to meet Scarlett Johansson at the We Bought A Zoo premiere on Monday, December 12, 2011, in Manhattan,” stated CharityBuzz.com, who is hosting the auction.
The lot is valued at $5000 US, and all proceeds will go to the charitable organization, Blessings in a Backpack, which ensures that “impoverished elementary schoolchildren are fed on the weekends throughout the school year.”
“Blessings in a Backpack is collectively feeding over 37,600 children in 216 schools across 32 U.S. states and 3 countries,” stated the organization’s founder Stan Curtis in early 2011.
Directed and co-written by Cameron Crowe, We Bought a Zoo is based on the true tale of a man and his family who purchase a struggling zoological park in Southern California. In addition to Johansson, Matt Damon, Elle Fanning, and Thomas Haden Church also star.
At press-time, bidding was at $1300 US, with a minimum next bid of 1550. The lot closes on December 8, at 1 PM. Guys and gals interested in bidding, visit http://www.charitybuzz.com/catalog_items/2751242 for more info.
