Paula Abdul “Storms Off” Jimmy Kimmel Live!

The public persona of Paula Abdul is the antithesis of sedate, and Monday night was no exception. The X Factor USA judge and her three comrades-in arms Simon Cowell, Nicole Scherzinger, and LA Reid chatted with Jimmy Kimmel about all manner of things regarding the ABC hit television show.

However, things became “fantastically uncomfortable” as Cowell put it, once Kimmel began grilling the judges apropos of the show’s elimination choices. Principally, he was making reference to the most recent contestant to bid The X Factor fair adieu, 13-year-old Rachel Crow. Despite the controversy surrounding Crow’s elimination last week, evidently the folks at Disney are courting her. Many believed the wee chanteuse ought not to have been eliminated, due to her prolific talent.

Kimmel, who clearly is a fan of the show, egged Abdul on during the interview.

“Yours deserved to go, Paula, both of yours deserved to go,” Kimmel said matter-of factly.

Whereby, Abdul exclaimed “What!”, promptly walking off into the wings of the studio, in pseudo-dramatic fashion.

“I thought they deserved to go, I’m sorry. Paula eliminated herself from the competition,” exclaimed Kimmel, as Abdul stood in the wings grinning.

Fear not however, Abdul returned to the couch with coaxing from Cowell, and the chats continued. On a side note, Cowell hit the Twitterverse after the interview tweeting: 'Just taped @jimmykimmel - Ouch! He's turned into me. Very uncomfortable, but brilliant!'
