National League MVP, Ryan Braun, was recently placed on a 50-game suspension after he tested positive for performance enhancing drugs during a mandatory drug test. Braun has been adamant from Day 1 that he has never taken drugs or steroids, and now TMZ has discovered that he could possibly be telling the truth.

According to TMZ, Ryan Braun is taking a new prescription medication for a private medical issue. Unbeknownst to Braun, the new meds contain some substances that are banned which resulted in a false positive.

An MLB source told TMZ, “The medication contained banned substances resulting in the positive test."

The news site was also informed that prior to starting this new medication, Braun’s drug test results always came back negative.

Braun “private medical issue” has not been revealed, but hopefully he is well and this news will allow the baseball star to resume playing for the Brewers sooner than later.
