It is official – not only is comedienne-turned-politician Roseanne Barr’s bid for the presidency legitimate, she has received support from the largest marijuana advocacy group in the US, NORML (National Organization for Reform of Marijuana Laws).

On Monday, California Secretary of State Debra Bowen announced that Barr was among 3 Green Party candidates who will be placed on the ballot for a presidential nomination.

"NORML welcomes Roseanne’s public support for ending a failed 74-year-old cannabis prohibition,” the organization’s executive director, Allen F. St. Pierre told TMZ.

The organization “backs any candidate who will adopt a pro-cannabis law reform plank as part of their political platform," he added.

Barr has been a longtime proponent of the decriminalization of marijuana. In September, she told Conan O’Brian that she believed many of America’s issues could be solved, were the country to “legalize marijuana and hemp - Hemp is the hope of the world!”

Some notable countries in which cannabis possession for personal use has been decriminalized include, Argentina, Czech Republic, Mexico, and the Netherlands.
