Sacha Baron Cohen Banned From Academy Awards
'The Dictator' will not be walking this year's red carpet.
Sacha Baron Cohen as The DictatorSacha Baron Cohen has officially been banned from the Oscars. According to Deadline, the actor’s tickets have been pulled after hearing word that Cohen intended to walk the red carpet in full costume from his upcoming film, ‘The Dictator’.
“Unless they’re assured that nothing entertaining is going to happen on the Red Carpet, the Academy is not admitting Sacha Baron Cohen to the show,” an insider told Deadline.
Always a fan of publicity stunts, Cohen informed Paramount (the production company behind ‘The Dictator’) his intentions to promote the film during Hollywood’s biggest award show.
Cohen was invited to The Academy Awards as part of ‘Hugo’s’ ensemble cast.
