Already a household name in France, Jean Dujardin charmed North American audiences (and Academy members) with his wonderful portrayal of silent film actor, George Valentine, in The Artist.

After Sunday night’s Academy Awards ceremony, Dujardin returned home with a Best Actor statue, a new nickname (“the French George Clooney”), and presumably hundreds of Hollywood offers for upcoming films.

Israeli daily newspaper, Ma’ariv, has reported that the actor has already accepted one of these offers. Dujardin is set to play a police officer seeking out a Jewish-Russian oligarch who is laundering money from an Israeli casino in Eric Rochant’s Möbius.

Möbius will co-star Belgian actress, Cecile de France, and begin filming in Israel as early as April.
