‘Glee’ to air Whitney Houston Tribute Episode
An upcoming episode will feature eight of Houston's popular tracks
Glee has aired many episodes dedicated to the music of a specific singer; Madonna and Michael Jackson to name a few, but according to E! Online, the Whitney Houston tribute “will not be a typical tribute.”
The Whitney Houston episode of Glee will instead focus on the characters as they graduate and attempt to gradually transition into new roles post-high school.
“It's using Whitney's music as a way to say goodbye. A way to respectfully say thank you for her music," E! Online reported.
The tribute episode will include eight of the late singer’s songs, but the track names have not yet been revealed.
Lea Michele aka Rachel Berry recently tweeted dropping hints about the Houston episode.
"Starting a new episode today. A very special tribute to one of the world’s most amazing singers. Very excited about this one."
"singing a really great version of one of my favourite songs," Michele posted.
Immediately after Whitney Houston’s unexpected death, Glee included a cover of I Will Always Love You, performed by Amber Riley. Although the producers decided to include a title card in the singer’s memory, they did not believe the one song (although unbelieveable) was enough of a dedication to the singing sensation.
