Legendary musician, Bob Dylan, is reportedly in the studio working on his 35th album.

After decades of being in the music industry and touring annually, Dylan still manages to incorporate new sounds into his tracks. This latest album will apparently incorporate traditional Mexican instruments and influences.

David Hidalgo, member of Los Lobos, recently spoke with the Aspen Times about his collaboration with Bob Dylan.

“It was a great experience. And different. Each one has been different, all completely different approaches. It’s an amazing thing, how he keeps creativity. I don’t see how he does it,” Hidalgo says of the newest project in comparison to the previous projects they worked on together.

Hidalgo grew up in a Mexican-American neighbourhood in East Los Angeles. He explains that the Mexican instruments that were strewn around the studio, such as the accordion and tres, intrigued Dylan.

“He’d say, ‘Wow, what’s that?’ He liked the sound. So we’d get it in there.”

A release date for the new album has not been set.
