Anne Frank Wax Figure Added in Madam Tussauds Museum
New exhibit opened featuring the 13-year-old Frank placed next to Hitler's exhibit
Madame Tussauds museum in Berlin has opened a new exhibit featuring Anne Frank, the famous diary author who wrote about her Jewish family's experiences hiding from the Nazis in Amsterdam.
In the exhibit, the girl is sitting at her desk, pen in hand, writing in her diary. The attention to detail is wonderful. Frank is surrounded by items that she loved including a copy of "Uncle Tom's Cabin".
The exhibit also includes a recreation of the secret room in the annex of the house where Frank and her family hid.
"For us, the most important thing was to paint a complete picture," museum spokeswoman Nina Zerbe told Der Spiegel magazine. "We wanted to show Anne Frank in the context in which she lived."
Frank's exhibit is placed next to Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler, which many have found to be inappropriate. One such critic is comedian Joan Rivers who tweeted the following:
