Roseanne Tweets Zimmerman’s Home Address, Threatens to Go Herself
The Green Party presidential nominee wants to seek justice for Trayvon Martin personally.
Just minutes after Spike Lee issued a public apology for tweeting the purported address of George Zimmerman, Roseanne Barr posted the home address of the murderer’s parents. Although it was discovered that Lee’s information was incorrect, and was in fact the residence of an elderly couple that were forced to relocate temporarily to a hotel due to Lee's irresponsible actions, Barr’s contact info is legitimate.
George Zimmerman, who is currently hiding from the police after the alleged murder of Trayvon Martin in Florida last month, has created a nation-wide witch-hunt of sorts. Barr posted the tweet because she thought it was “good to let ppl know that no one can hide anymore.”
That’s a scary thought, and apparently her 110,000 followers on Twitter agreed, because Barr deleted the address from her stream shortly after it’s original posting, saying :vigilante-ism is what killed Trayvon. I don’t support that.”
Barr’s original tweet was actually a retweet of a post from a new Twitter user who appears to be entirely devoted to disseminating Zimmerman’s address and phone number, as well as contact info for Joseph Oliver, Zimmerman’s friend and former co-worker who has supported him in various television appearances.
Barr later threatened, “If Zimmerman isn’t arrested I’ll rt his address again… maybe go 2 his house myself.”
There is no evidence that Zimmerman is hiding at his parents’ house.
What do you think of this vigilante movement from the public and celebrities to find Zimmerman? Why are people willing to go outside the law for this specific case?
