On April 10, Rachel Bilson will join many other celebrities in going a full day without wearing shoes. The action is part of TOMS “One Day Without Shoes” campaign, raising awareness and money to purchase shoes for children in third world countries that don’t have access to them.

“With every pair of shoes someone purchases, a pair of new shoes will be given to a child in need,” Blake Mycoskie, TOMS founder and creator of the ‘One for One’ shoe concept explained.

“This movement is about raising awareness and asking people to do something-anything-without shoes. We are so eager to see the world’s participation this year. So, do what you normally do- just without shoes and help start the conversation,” Mycoskie continued.

TOMS is inviting everyone in the world to participate, and make a statement to spread awareness about the “One Day Without Shoes’ campaign and cause.

“On Tuesday, April 10, TOMS will ask the world to go without shoes for its annual One Day Without Shoes event. This is the day each year that TOMS raises awareness of the impact a pair of shoes can have on a child’s life. Last year, people went without shoes at over 1,000 events in over 25 countries around the globe,” the campaign’s press releases explains.

What better way to garner attention than to walk down Wall St or Rodeo Dr without shoes? Millions of children are exposed to illness and injury every year because they don’t have proper footwear. Join Rachel Bilson, Armie Hammer, Chris Pine, Miley Cyrus and many others in helping these kids get shoes.
