Shatner Takes His Millionth Twitter Follower to Dinner
Iconic actor celebrates his twitter milestone with one of his fans
Who wouldn't want to do dinner with Shatner?William Shatner just took a fan where few Star Trek fans had gone before; to dinner with the Captain.
Shatner recently announced that he would take his one millionth Twitter follower to dinner and he made good on the promise on Tuesday when he took Troy Pound from South Caroline, the millionth person to follow him, and his wife out on the evening.
Shatner was traveling through Charlotte, NC while on tour for his one-man show “Shatner’s World” and took Pound out following the show.
Shatner manages his own Twitter account; reading and responding to his fans, unlike many celebrities who have someone represent them. His is one of the most popular celebrity twitter accounts, growing by the tens of thousands daily.
This is not Shatner’s fist tweeter follower to go to dinner with the man. Shatner recently tweeted that he had gone to dinner several times with his first follower @PaulCamuso.
So what have we learned? It’s good to follow @WilliamShatner. Not only are you hearing directly from one of the most iconic actors ever, but there is also a chance that you’ll get to spend a nice evening with him. A two in a million chance, but still a chance.
