Mia Kirshner Joins Syfy’s ‘Defiance’
The Vampire Diaries and L Word star joins the cast of ‘Defiance’
Mia Kirshner has been a fixture on our TV sets since 2004, when we met the egotistical, yet vulnerable, Jenny Schechter. After 6 incredible seasons, The L Word unfortunately came to an end, but Mia found a new home on The Vampire Diaries as Isobel Flemming. Now, Mia is jumping ship again… and this time landing on the set of Syfy’s new drama Defiance.
Defiance will be set in a future world ravaged by war. It will follow Jeb Nolan (Grant Bowler)- the law-keeper in the town of Defiance.
Kirshner will take on the role of Kenya, the “sassy and confident town madam”, according to Deadline.com
Defiance will also star Fionnula Flanagan (Lost) and Julie Benz (Dexter).
Defiance is written and executive produced by Rockne S O’Bannon (Farscape), alongside Kevin Murphy and Michael Taylor.
Defiance will begin shooting at the end of April in Mia Kirshner’s hometown of Toronto.
