Billy Crystal on Playing Basketball for his Jewish High School Team
The comedian speaks on his hilarious experience in this classic Showtime stand-up
If you’ve ever watched the Los Angeles Clippers playing at home court you would have seen Billy Crystal sitting courtside. Crystal is to the Clippers what Spike Lee is to the Knicks, a diehard fan, there through the many years of bad and too few years of good. With the Clippers now close to reaching the second round of the NBA playoffs, Crystal can lay claim to building the bandwagon everyone else has jumped on.
But that love for Basketball didn’t start at the NBA level. Crystal used to play for his Jewish high school basketball team, where 5 foot players were the norm. In his Showtime stand-up special which aired in the early 80s, Crystal did a bit about his experience playing for his high school team. The hilarious standup can be seen below:
