Mahmoud al-Mabhouh, a former Hamas operative, was assassinated in 2010 at a Dubai luxury hotel. Al-Madhouh was a founding member of the Izzedine al-Qassam Brigades, and was allegedly responsible for kidnapping and killing two Israeli soldiers in 1989.

A film entitled “Kidron” (Hebrew for “Spear) is currently in the works, starring Israeli supermodel, Bar Refaeli as a cold-blooded killer part of the hit squad to murdered al-Mabhouh.

Al-Mabhouh’s family is speaking out against the release of the film, calling it a “Zionist conspiracy”. The family believes it is unfair to the deceased, The Associated Press reported.

Micha Scharstein, “Kidron’s” producer, explains that the film’s plot is merely inspired by real-life events, and is not intended to be a factual account of the happenings. The film focuses on a gang of killers who assassinate the Hamas boss as a means of framing the Mossad.

In reality, a squad consisting of over 20 people, who are assumed to be assassins, were captured on surveillance footage at the Dubai hotel wearing wigs and beards to disguise themselves. They supposedly broke into al-Mabhouh’s hotel room, injected him with a muscle relaxant, and proceeded to suffocate him with a pillow.

“Kidron” is currently being filmed in the Israeli Red Sea resort of Eliat, and is scheduled to be released later this year.
