Jerry Seinfeld offered $100 Million for Season 10 of Seinfeld
The comedian was offered $5 million per episode according to a former NBC exec.
The cast of SeinfeldPic: NBCSeinfeld ended on a high note after nine seasons on NBC, four Emmy wins and three Golden Globes. The popular sitcom made stars out of Jerry Seinfeld and the rest of the ensemble cast. It also made Seinfeld a lot of money.
And according to former NBC exec Warren Littlefield, Seinfeld could have made even more money off of the successful TV show had he stayed on for another season. In an interview with Fox News, Littlefield claims the 58-year-old comedian and co-writer of the series was offered more than $100 million ($5 million per episode) to do another season of Seinfeld.
“We didn’t mess around,” Littlefield told Fox News. “What we put on the table was unheard of. We went in there with a staggering sum and there was tremendous confidence that no one could walk away from it.”
So why did Seinfeld walk away from $100 million? Littlefield says the comedian wanted to get married and start a family.
While a Seinfeld reunion is unlikely, Seinfeld fans will be happy to know that the Golden Globe winner will likely guest star on Season 3 of Louie on FX, according to Hollwood.com.
