Jonah Hills Joins Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Django Unchained’
After previously turning down the role, Hill has decided to join the cast of ‘Django Unchained’
Jonah HillPic: abcLast year, while Jonah Hill was promoting ‘Moneyball’, he expressed disappointment about having to turn down a role in Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming western ‘Django Unchained’. Hill explained the reason for refusal was entirely due to scheduling conflict, so I suppose it is safe to assume that Hill’s calendar has opened up because Deadline is now reporting that the 28-year old actor has joined the cast.
"I got offered the new Quentin Tarantino movie, and I can't do it because of my schedule," Hill said in the fall of 2011. "Doing Quentin's movie would have obviously been amazing, but my schedule didn't work out, which sucks."
Tarantino’s ‘Django Unchained’ is scheduled to be released on Christmas Day, but lucky for Hill is still in production.
Hill was originally offered the role of Scott Harmony, an overweight 20-something that received Broomhilda as a gift from his father in order to gain self-confidence. According to reports though, Hill has accepted a different, unnamed, role instead.
Just a few weeks ago, Harvey Weinstein announced that Tarantino’s film might still have some surprise casting in store, although a first trailer has already been released. Is Hill’s choice to join the cast what Weinstein was hinting at?
Jonah Hill is also in the midst of filming Martin Scorsese’s ‘The Wolf on Wall Street’ with ‘Django Unchained’ co-star Leonardo DiCaprio.
