First it was announced that Adam Levine was making his acting debut on the small tube via Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story. Now comes news that the “Payphone ”singer and budding actor has just landed a lead role in the Judd Appatow-produced Can A Song Save Your Life.

According to Deadline.com, the Maroon 5 frontman is set to play Keira Knightley’s boyfriend in the flick, which will be directed by John Carney. The Irish filmmaker is known for his Oscar-winning movie Once -- the film that was adapted into the award-winning musical that won big at this year’s Tony Awards.

MTV News reports that the movie tells the story of a singer (Knightley) who moves to the Big Apple with her musician boyfriend (Levine) for a shot at a music career. However, Levine’s character ends up dumping his girlfriend in order to pursue a solo career.

Can A Song Save Your Life will also feature performances by Oscar nominees Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit) and The Avengers’ Mark Ruffalo.
