Jesse Eisenberg achieved international fame after his portrayal of Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, in David Fincher’s ‘The Social Network’. Over the last couple years, Eisenberg has been featured in several plays, readings, and feature films, all garnering critical acclaim. Now, the actor has announced the completion of “The Revisionist”, a play focused around the Holocaust.

“The Revisionist” will open at New York City’s Cherry Lane Theatre (Off Broadway) in 2012, according to the Times of Israel. Eisenberg has not yet revealed whether he will appear in his work.

Not many details have been released about the characters or plot. However, we do know that “The Revisionist” will follow a science fiction writer that travels to Poland and meets with a relative who survived the Holocaust and has a deep, hidden secret.

“The Revisionist” marks Eisenberg’s second Off-Broadway play; the first being “Asuncion”, which was well received Off-Broadway last year.

Eisenberg currently stars in Woody Allen’s “To Rome With Love” alongside Allen himself, Alec Baldwin, and Ellen Paige.
