Gwyneth Paltrow Reviving Cancer Telethon
The third "Stand Up to Cancer" telecast will air on Friday, September 7th.

Her father, director and producer Bruce Paltrow, succumbed to complications from oral cancer and pneumonia in October 2002, at the age of 58.
The previous two Stand Up to Cancer telethons in 2008 and 2010 respectively, were tremendous successes, generating roughly $180 million in pledges alone.
Although the line-up for this year’s telethon has yet to be announced, the previous two telecasts featured dozens of actors, musicians, and athletes including George Clooney, Rihanna, Lance Armstrong, and Jennifer Aniston.
Stand Up to Cancer is an initiative of the Entertainment Industry Foundation, which is a philanthropic facet of the film and television industries. 100% of all public donations during the telethon go toward funding cancer research.
