Egyptians Turn Violent When Told They’re on Israeli TV [VIDEO]
A hidden camera show displays Anti-Semitism in Egypt
Ayman KandeelExcerpts from an Egyptian hidden camera television series, similar to ‘Candid Camera’, were translated and distributed this week by MEMRI (Middle East Media Research Institute). The clips display blatant sexism and Anti-Semitism by the Egyptian actors involved.
In one of the episodes, Ayman Kandeel, an Egyptian actor, attacks the shows’ producer and host after being told the interview was going to be aired on Israeli TV. Kandeel slaps the host, causing her to fall to the floor.
After Kandeel realized that he was being pranked, he is anything but apologetic. He informs the host that she brought it on herself and offers to rub lotion on her back.
In a different episode, Egyptian actor Mahmoud Abd Al-Ghaffar pulls a producer by the hair and begins fighting with other staff members.
“If you weren’t a girl, the moment you told me you were Jewish … I hate the Jews to death,” he says to the host.
In a third episode, Egyptian actress Mayar Al-Beblawi refers to Israelis as whiners, insisting they all “continue to cry over the Holocaust, or whatever they call it.”
The hidden camera shows’ host- the young woman that was repeatedly insulted and injured- lauds the Egyptians that were pranked, stating “I didn’t know there could be such patriotism, but it exists in every Egyptian who breathes the air of this country.”
