Shia LaBeouf to Star in Lars Von Trier’s Erotic Film ‘Nymphomaniac’
‘The Transformers’ actor is in talks to join this steamy flick.
Child star and ‘Transformers’ actor, Shia LaBeouf, is currently in talks to join Lars Von Trier’s new two-part erotic drama ‘Nymphomaniac’, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
LaBeouf, who last caused a stir appearing completely naked in a music video for Sigur Ros’ ‘Fjögur Píanó’, seems to be ditching his mainstream popularity in favor of more daring, indie flicks.
Lars Von Trier is best known for pushing the boundaries in his films, and ‘Nymphomaniac’ will be no exception. The director intends to release two films, with each having two different versions- a graphic edit and softer cut.
The film stars Charlotte Gainsbourg, who previously appeared in Von Trier’s ‘Melancholia’. Her character’s sexual history will be the focus of the film, narrated by on-screen husband, Stellan Skarsgard. LaBeouf is reportedly lined up to portray one of Gainsbourg’s lovers, while Nicole Kidman is also being considered for a small role.
LaBeouf will next be seen in ‘Lawless’ co-starring Tom Hardy, Jessica Chastain, Guy Pearce, and Mia Wasikowska, Robert Redford’s ‘The Company You Keep’, and Fredrik Bond’s ‘The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman’.
