The loveable young actress we enjoyed as “Blossom”, and watch today on “The Big Bang Theory”, was involved in a serious car accident in Los Angeles on Wednesday afternoon. Mayim Bialik, 36, sustained serious injuries in the car accident and sources said she is in danger of losing her finger.

The accident took place at the corner of Hollywood Blvd. and La Brea around, when Bialik, who portrays Amy Farrah Fowler on The Big Bang, was traveling in a white Volvo when she was struck by a vehicle carrying Chilean tourists.

Eye witnesses to the accident reported that there was “tons and tons of blood everywhere.”

The Chileans were fortunate to suffer only minor injuries and eventually left on their own.

According to TMZ, Bialik, who was recently nominated for an Emmy for outstanding supporting actress in a comedy series, was rushed to a nearby hospital after she received serious damage to her left hand and “her finger was almost completely severed … it was just hanging there.”

However, The New York Daily News reported that while her left hand will not be at a hundred percent while she is healing, the actress should make a complete recovery. She also told her Twitter followers, “(husband typing) In pain but will keep all my fingers.”

Bialik also tweeted: “@Maccabeats made me cry. Rabbi at hospital gave me an artscroll. You guys helped me learn to have faith. I need it now and have it! Thx!”
