HBO’s ‘Girls’ to Release Never-Before-Seen Footage on Upcoming Blu Ray [VIDEO]
The Girls’ gag reel might be even funnier than the show itself.
The girls of 'Girls'HBO’s quirky 2012 show ‘Girls’ can soon be enjoyed in
a whole new way. The first season is being released on Blu-ray December 11,
with some fun surprises for the audience.
As most of you already know, ‘Girls’ tells the story of a group of
twenty-something hipster girls living in New York, trying to figure out their
place in the big city, while dealing with the trials of dating. (You know...
smothering boyfriends, relationship status, awkward sex, etc). Creator Lena
Dunham stars in the dramedy as Hannah Horvath, a sort of spoiled character who
deals with overbearing yet entertaining friends, self image issues, and (like
any young person living in a big city) money problems.
The Blu-ray release includes the entire first season, behind the scene footage
of the making of ‘Girls’, and some fun extras, including cast auditions,
deleted scenes, and a guilty pleasure for diehard fans, a gag reel.
In a hilariously memorable scene, Hannah sits at a bar with her ex-boyfriend,
Elijah, as he explains to her how he was able to date her even though he’s gay.
In this clip, they can barely keep it together while improvising a bit.
In another clip, funny girls Zosia Mamet and Jemima Kirke get a little silly
while filming a scene in Mamet’s characters bedroom, playfully showing that
girls will be girls.
‘Girls: The Complete First Season’ also includes table reads, audio
commentaries by the cast as well as producer Judd Apatow, on-set photos and a
book including Dunham’s tweets about the show.
This Blu-ray release is a perfect way for fans to delve even further into the
show and get amped for season 2 airing in January 2013.
