When Saturday Night Live commences its 38th season on Saturday, three fresh, new faces will be present. The venerable sketch-comedy show announced the addition of Aidy Bryant, Tim Robinson and Cecily Strong as cast members on Monday. All three comics hail from the Chicago area, and are alumni of the-most-revered-of-comedian-training-grounds, that is Second City.

Aidy Bryant trained at iO Chicago, then performed at Annoyance Theater and was member of the Second City E.T.C Stage in the “Windy City”. Robinson performed on the Second City main stage, in addition to being a member of the national touring company. Likewise, Strong performed with the touring company, and also “cut her teeth” at iO Chicago.

The trio fill the gap left after SNL veterans Kristen Wiig and Andy Samberg, who officially bid it fair adieu last season. In addition, cast member Abby Elliot left the series over the summer.

Seth McFarlane of Family Guy and Ted fame, will host the season premiere on September 15th, with musical guest Frank Ocean. Joseph Gordon-Levitt will take over the hosting chair on September 22nd, with Mumford & Sons performing. On October 6th, James Bond (a.k.a Daniel Craig) will host, with Muse at the microphone.
