Ashley Tisdale, Vanessa Hudgens Become Animated For New Film
The former ‘High School Musical’ stars will join other teen heartthrobs for ‘The Great Migration’.
Former High School Musical co-stars, Ashley Tisdale and Vanessa Hudgens, are reuniting for the upcoming animated indie flick, The Great Migration. Big Time Rush members, Kendall Schmidt and Logan Henderson, as well as Pretty Little Liars actress, Ashley Benson, will join the girls.
Your favorite teen dreams will not only be starring in The Great Migration, they will be lending their voices to the original soundtrack.
Kevin G. Schmidt (Cheaper By the Dozen) plans to write and co-star. While speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, he shares the unlikely source of inspiration for the upcoming project.
"The idea for The Great Migration arrived in my email inbox via a weekly newsletter from an alternative physician I follow in Chicago," Schmidt says. "The film centers on a group of characters that encounter a mutated predator threatening to destroy the balance of their environment."
The newly formed CMI Entertainment will produce The Great Migration. According to THR, this project will mark the company’s first attempt at producing a film using pre-visualization; creating high quality animation below market prices.
"What we hope to accomplish with The Great Migration is the most efficient animated storytelling without sacrificing artistic vision or quality," says CMI's Michael Cammarata.
"If the right partners are economically and creatively on the same page, I believe projects can be brought from conception to reality quicker than ever before."
The Great Migration is expected to begin production on November 1st.
Ashley Tisdale is no stranger to animation. She is a series regular on Disney Channel favorite, Phineas and Ferb.
