Scarlett Johansson & Eva Longoria Star in Women’s Rights Campaign Ad [VIDEO]
The actresses’ join MoveOn.org for a new pro-Obama campaign
After last night’s debate, it’s become increasingly apparent how large a role women’s rights are playing in this year’s election, and how drastically different President Obama and Governor Romney’s policies are on this controversial topic.
Scarlett Johansson, Eva Longoria, and Kerry Washington have joined liberal advocacy group, MoveOn.org, for a new ad criticizing GOP candidate, Mitt Romney’s, views and policies toward women.
All three actresses have been heavily involved in Obama’s 2012 campaign, hosting fundraisers and even speaking at the Democratic Convention.
The new ad, directed by Rob Reiner and his wife Michele, stars the three actresses speaking about Romney’s intention to stop Planned Parenthood funding and appoint Supreme Court justices that would overturn Roe v. Wade.
Johansson also discusses an attempt made by House Republicans to redefine the rape exception in legislation providing federal funding for abortion, while Longoria points out the Virginia state legislature that would have required invasive ultrasounds for women seeking abortions.
“If you think this election won’t affect you and your life, think again,” Johannson says.
