Rabbi Sister of Comic Sarah Silverman Makes Pro-Obama Video
Susan Silverman Takes a Page Out of Her Sibling’s Playbook
Susan Silverman, Sarah’s sister and a reform rabbi who makes her home in Jerusalem with her husband and five little ones, decided to get into the movie business – albeit on a smaller scale than her famous sister – by throwing her own support behind Obama in his battle against Mitt Romney by appearing in a pro-Obama video.
Getting the sense that her fellow Members of the Tribe were not fully understanding Obama’s stance when it came to the Jewish State, Rabbi Silverman, spurred on by her sister’s encouragement and support, got ready for her close-up, and did the deed.
Susan’s pro-Obama video was released on October 18th.
Much of the video consists of various, average Israeli citizens discussing their thoughts on the incumbent, including, of course, what they see as Obama’s ongoing support for Israel and its people.
A short version of the ad will air in Florida on October 22nd and is obviously aimed at voters during Monday night’s debate in the southern State.
“I was really frustrated with the misinformation out there about Barack Obama and Israel. Frankly it was disgusting to me,” said Rabbi Susan Silverman. “The assumptions of his not being good for Israel, really, at its core, are fear-based. It’s the same craziness that fuels the ‘birther’ movement in the US. It was driving me crazy, so I just had to do something.”
