KISS’ Gene Simmons recently shared some unexpected information with Britain’s The Sun newspaper. According to the rock legend/brilliant business mogul, Simmons was offered a huge sum of money to reunite legendary band, Led Zeppelin.

"In 2009/10 I was given a few hundred million dollars in an account by a large concert promoter and given the task of reaching out to Jimmy and Robert and trying to convince them to get back together,” Simmons shares.

The unnamed concert promoter believed that Simmons’ friendship with Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, and John Paul Jones would help to convince the Led Zeppelin members that reuniting would be beneficial. After all, KISS is still touring with original members, and seem happier than ever.

The offer was made immediately after Led Zeppelin’s extremely successful one-off concert at London’s O2 Arena in 2007.

Simmons tells the newspaper that his efforts to convince the band to reunite for a tour or new album were in vain.

“Of course it didn’t work. Robert just doesn’t want to do it.”
