Study Shows That Cake for Breakfast is Good for the Diet

Study proves what Bill Cosby has known for years, cake is a breakfast meal

Sometimes gastronomical dreams really do come true.

A recent study performed by several universities, including the Wolfson Medical Center in Israel, shows that eating cake for breakfast could actually be good for your diet.

In the study, which was led by Prof. Daniela Jakubowicz of the Wolfson Medical Center, participants who started the day with a breakfast high in carbohydrates and protein, including a sweet dish, managed to keep their weight off better than those who ate low-carb, low calorie breakfast which did not include desert.

The study was conducted on 193 obese adults. Half the participants were given a 600 calories diet which included a cake, cookie or donut. The other half ate a smaller, 300-calorie breakfast. The group with the larger calorie breakfast ate a smaller dinner of 300 calories and the other group ate a bigger 600-calorie dinner. Both groups consumed the same amount through the day of 1600 calories.

The study found that when you eat is as important as what you eat. Eating a carb-full breakfast will help keep us full throughout the day and will help us avoid cravings for sweets later in the day.

As great as the results of this study are, it all seems like a waste of time. If only they listened to Bill Cosby, who many moons ago discussed the benefits of eating cake for breakfast, they would have known this already.
