White Powder Found in Tel Aviv Turkish Embassy
Suspicious substance possibly linked to threatening letters of last week.

The letter was similar to a series of suspect packages that were mailed to other embassies a week ago.
Micky Rosenfeld, a police spokesperson, told the Associated Press that embassy staff contacted police on Monday after they found the letter containing the powder. The substance proved not to be toxic.
After police were alerted, rescue services, including a firefighting unit specializing in handling toxic substances, arrived at the scene.
Ynetreported that embassy workers found the letter around noon, the time when they generally open the mail bags. Embassy security is thought to have called the police.
Police are investigating whether there is a link to threatening letters marked with swastikas and containing an unknown white powder received by the U.S., Spanish and Swedish embassies in Tel Aviv on September 14.
Two of the employees who opened the envelopes at the U.S. embassy were put into isolation as a precaution, said Israeli police. The power turned out to be non-poisonous. Workers did not complain of any symptoms after coming into contact with the powder, Israeli Army Radio reported.
