Ultra-Orthodox Man Indicted for Insulting Female Soldier
44 Year Old launches Verbal Assault on Jerusalem Bus
Just two days after a gathering which saw thousands of Israelis come together in Beir Shemesh on December 27th in an organized protest against the treatment – and exclusion - of women in Israeli society, an ultra-Orthodox man has been charged with sexual harassment.
The man, 44-year-old Shlomo Fuchs, reportedly shouted disparaging remarks at a female soldier following her refusal to move to the back of a Jerusalem bus.
Charged with sexual harassment, Fuchs, was indicted in a Jerusalem courtroom on December 29th after his arrest by police for allegedly calling the 19-year-old IDF soldier Doron Matalon a whore and a shiksa.
After other passengers joined Fuchs in his barrage of insults, the driver stopped the bus and immediately alerted Jerusalem police.
