Goa Police admitted today that it has falsely implicated David Driham, an Israeli national, in a 20120 drug case, and now feel "ashamed" of the frame-up.

"Goa Police are ashamed of (the act of) a police sub-inspector and four constables falsely implicating David Driham, an Israeli national living at Anjuna," a newsletter released by the office of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said.

It is further mentioned in the newsletter that the department is "ashamed" of police sub inspector Sunil Guddlar and four constables for planting drugs in the house of Driham at Anjuna in 2010.

Driham's sister later conducted a string operation showing the police sub inspector demading a bribe for the release of Driham.

Driham was released and all charges have been dropped.
